Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Socketo, including socketo.dev, the managed WebSocket service, and related tools. By using Socketo, you agree to these terms. Do not use the service if you do not agree.
The service
Socketo provides Pusher-compatible WebSockets, channels, client events, webhooks, and a dashboard. Features, limits, and availability may change as the service evolves.
Accounts and teams
You must be at least 13 years old to use Socketo. You sign in through a supported OAuth provider and are responsible for your account, teams, apps, app keys, app secrets, and all activity using them.
Keep your credentials confidential. Email support@socketo.dev promptly if you believe your account or credentials have been used without permission.
Acceptable use
You may not use Socketo to:
- break the law or infringe another person's rights;
- transmit malware, spam, phishing content, or other harmful material;
- disrupt, overload, or bypass the service, its limits, or security controls;
- impersonate Socketo or misrepresent your affiliation with it; or
- transmit highly sensitive personal, health, government identification, or full financial account information through WebSocket channels.
You are responsible for the content, channel names, presence data, client events, and other data transmitted through your applications. Socketo does not routinely review WebSocket message content, but may investigate reported or suspected violations.
Plans and billing
Current plans, prices, and limits are shown on the pricing page and during checkout. Polar handles checkout, subscriptions, and invoices as the merchant of record. Your purchase is also subject to the terms presented by Polar at checkout.
Subscription charges are billed in USD unless checkout states otherwise. Plan changes take effect immediately with prorated charges or credits. Usage charges, cancellations, and refunds are handled according to the options and terms shown in the dashboard or at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where Polar approves a refund.
The local CLI and self-hosted open-source edition may be used without a Socketo Cloud subscription. Running either version can still incur third-party infrastructure charges.
Availability and support
Socketo is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not currently offer a service-level agreement or uptime guarantee. We may perform maintenance or change the service when reasonably necessary.
Ownership
Socketo and its related branding, service, and proprietary infrastructure remain the property of Socketo. You retain ownership of your application code, data, and content. You grant Socketo the limited right to process that data only as needed to provide the service.
Feedback you provide is voluntary. Socketo may use it without compensation or obligation.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Socketo at any time. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when you breach these terms, create a security or abuse risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or when the service is discontinued. Amounts already due remain payable.
Disclaimer and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Socketo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from the service. Socketo's total liability for a claim related to the service or these terms will not exceed the amount you paid Socketo in the 12 months before the claim.
You agree to indemnify Socketo against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these terms or another person's rights.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits. In those cases, the exclusions and limits apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page, and continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
